Our History
In 1995 the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, Bayamón Campus (IAUPRBC) launched their first three engineering programs (Electrical, Industrial and Mechanical). On January 1997, the academic programs and services moved to the current location at Road 830, Dr. John Will Harris in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. In 1998, the Board of Trustees approved for the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, Bayamón Campus (IAUPRBC) a new mission focused on programs in Science, Engineering and Technology. The first students’ class was graduated in year 2000. The Computer Engineering program began operation in 2004. Finally, on Fall 2020 the School of Engineering started to offer the architectural engineering program.
Mission Statement
The mission of the School of Engineering is to develop outstanding professionals in the engineering field, competent to work in different scenarios, and able to contribute with their knowledge, skills, and abilities to the well-being of society.
Accreditations
Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering programs are accredited by the Council on Higher Education of Puerto Rico and the Middle States Commission of Higher Education.
ABET
